Destiny 2 drops skill-based matchmaking from most PvP modes. By Andy Chalk June 11, Bungie wants the Crucible to be ‘less of a high-stakes.
Weather you win or loose doesn’t seem to have much to do with with a player’s skill, or the quality of team that has been assembled. It almost feels like winning goes in rotation or something, especially with the way matchmaking plays out. You play 3 or 4 teams that have you outclassed, then you play a team that your superior to, and then it restarts, it’s hard to play a game with an evenly matched opponent that I can slug it out with, I mean really it’s pretty difficult to play an entire match without someone rage quitting because their getting smacked around like they were a College team or something.
On average the matchmaking is just awful. Guy’s, I can’t speak for everybody, but I think the majority of us want to love this game.. I’m a little older, but I don’t know anyone who cares in the least about playing a online Football game with player’s that look like the Megos, or DJ Khaled. I would personally like to be drawn in by a great gaming experience, and not weird gimmicks that I don’t understand, I mean honestly why would anyone want to play a football videogame as some overated rap artist, who makes a living pretending to be a tough guy?
Or even worse DJ Khaled, seriously guys that’s just not believable, DJ Khaled hasen’t ran in 20 years, let alone played an entire football game, he’d have to be hospitalized after, or hooked up to a C02 tank or something.
Yes I know I’m a skilled player but if you actually compared their gear it’s not even in the same ballpark, When we que together for clan 6’s I feel like it’s silver ranked players vs platinum players. But it could also be that the whales complained that real skilled players in about the same rank where beating their asses in CBG so they are matched with low ranged teams This is the correct answer.
The game tries to search for the nearest opponent. Yes i write NCwest aswell cause they allow cheating, wintrading, abusing of que system, boosting ranks for friends,

That’s twice the amount of people playing Strikes, Nightfall, Raids, or Gambit. For comparison, if we look back at July of , the PVP population was k, less than half of what it is today. So while there was an increase, it should also be considered that this is a new season where everybody is trying to hit the new max power level. Especially now that skill-based matchmaking has been turned off.
For most events in Destiny 2, I like to play solo. But as a competitive player with a paltry 0.

And I mean every team, I skipped 25 different players not the same 6 or so over and over again which I can understand. That is a good team.
This ended up taking a lot more time than I thought it would. Here is the original thread I made a while ago. The application functionality depends on parsing the combat log and currently only the english combat log is supported. See below for what gear your class is allowed to use. This restriction is to promote balance and lower the barrier to entry.
As we all have noticed, PVP matchmaking is awful. Power brackets are very unfair, especially the top bracket where 32k players fights against.
Luke Smith delivered the third and final piece to his epically long Director’s Cut, a series of blog posts that provide unprecedented insight into the Destiny 2 development process at Bungie. For many, fans were anticipating part three for the PvP updates, an aspect of the game that has been lacking for quite some time. The real meat of the PvP discussion begins in full in Part 3, where Smith acknowledges that while Destiny 2 continues get to tuned behind the scenes as well as new pinnacle rewards, there’s a lot to this side of the game that is missing.
As he points out, there hasn’t been a new permanent game mode, game modes from the first game are still missing in action, and there isn’t a public facing Crucible team to communicate directly with. As such it became a mode that didn’t have a lot going on, even if most were wondering what direction it was going in. The biggest change coming when Shadowkeep and New Light launch is changing the playlist structure.
Quickplay and Competitive, two staples of the Crucible menu, are getting removed from the Director completely. Instead, players can select Classic Mix, a playlist that is based on player connection and includes Control, Clash, and Supremacy game modes. A 6v6 Control playlist is also available, intended as a good starting point for newer players. Finally, there are 4v4 and a 6v6 weekly rotating playlists which include other modes like Clash, Supremacy, Mayhem, Lockdown, and Countdown.
Competitive players seeking Glory now have two options, a 3v3 Survival mode and a Solo queue variant. Elimination is the only mode to not be featured in the upcoming Crucible refresh. Bungie is actually still in the process of tweaking this game mode to try and figure out the best way to handle certain features like revives, whether or not there should be tokens spent, and how Heavy Ammo works in general. Smith goes on to reveal that Elimination is still unfinished as it’s missing voice over, medals have not been created as of yet, and it simply lacks that expected level of polish.

Playing this because laptop is too weak for better games. Posts: As we all have noticed, PVP matchmaking is awful. Power brackets are very unfair, especially the top bracket where 32k players fights against someone who has put a looooooot of time into the game. It requires a change. Why not make brackets by a number of wins and losses. For example, you win 10 times and you go to the new bracket.
Well, as 4 players are fighting, there are also 4 places. That would complicate matchmaking a bit. You are 1st place 6 times in a row or 10 times 1st place in set number of times and you advance. You are 2nd place 10 times in a row or 18 times in a set number of times and you advance. Lose game 6 times in a row or 10 times in a set number of times and you fall down.
Lets say that this “set number of times” is meaning from the time you join a bracket until you change it.
